I'm David Wesonga, Retirement Mortgage Specialist and Housing Wealth Strategist.
I created Strategic Housing Wealth because I believe homeowners often overlook one of the largest assets they own when thinking about retirement.
Their home.
Too often, home equity isn't considered until there's already a financial emergency.
A Different Approach to Home Equity
Your home may be more than a place to live. It may be one of your most powerful retirement assets. At Strategic Housing Wealth, we help homeowners explore ways to turn home equity into income - Strategically.
My role is to help homeowners understand the possibilities, limitations and responsibilities of retirement mortgage strategies so they can make informed decisions based on their individual goals.
My Purpose
I help homeowners explore whether housing wealth can increase retirement cash-flow flexibility, protect other resources, create an additional reserve, support aging in place, help fund care, reduce family financial pressure, strengthen surviving-spouse flexibility or support the purchase of a more appropriate retirement home.
Education Comes First
A HECM Equity Mortgage or Proprietary Reverse Mortgage is not appropriate for everyone. I begin by understanding goals, expected time in the home, existing mortgage, retirement income, other assets, care needs, family considerations and legacy objectives.
Working With Your Other Professional Advisors
When appropriate and with your permission, I welcome collaboration with your financial planner, wealth advisor, CPA, tax professional, estate-planning attorney, elder-law attorney, Realtor, insurance professional or other trusted advisors.
My responsibility is to help you understand the options clearly enough to make an informed decision.
Your home may be more than a place to live. It may be one of your most powerful retirement assets. At Strategic Housing Wealth, we help homeowners explore ways to turn home equity into income - strategically.
Without having to sell your home, or disrupt your lifestyle.
